AL WALD'S RESCUED SUPERBIRD

North Dakota member Al Wald found this poor neglected Superbird roosting in a barn last year. After weeks of negotiating with the owner, he finally was able to rescue it from its abuse. Al found the Bird nestled back in a corner of this barn surrounded by piles of all kinds of junk. It is hardly visible for the stuff that's piled around and on top of it. In case you're wondering, yes that's a stack of plywood being stored on top of the Bird's roof and wing!

The nosecone was found stored on metal shelving along with miscellaneous junk. The front seat went missing, but those are the hard-to-find grille and park light frames sitting on the passenger's seat.

Al's Bird is a 440 4-speed car, Limelight green with white bucket seat interior, a rare color combination. Al loaded up his barn Bird and took it home, where he is lovingly restoring it back to its former beauty. It's good to know this barn story has a happy ending!
